The BMTC Vayu Vajra bus costs from ₹ 50 to ₹ 250 for journeys from the airport to Bangalore City. Pre-paid taxis can be booked at the terminals and cost around ₹ 1,200. Metered taxis are cheaper and cost between ₹ 700 - ₹ 1,000 for the journey from the airport to the city. Day bus passes cost around ₹  40, but are not valid on Vajra buses. Auto-rickshaws charge around ₹ 15 x the distance travelled in kilometres, with a minimum charge of around ₹ 25. 10% extra is added for journeys after dark, and there is a heavy luggage surcharge of about ₹ 10-20. Taxis have to be booked in advance and charge a flat rate of ₹ 150 for any journey within Bangalore.

A 20% accommodation tax is added to advertised room prices. Cheap rooms start from around ₹ 700, mid-range accommodation is about ₹ 1,500, while luxury hotels charge from ₹ 4,000 a night.
