Delightful Goa

Travel seasons in Goa

It is best to visit Goa in the Winter, which is from the middle of November to the middle of February. June onwards marks monsoon season so unless you like getting wet you may want to avoid that time of year. To get from the Airport you can use a pre-paid taxi. Going to Panjim will cost around Rs 700, to Anjuna around Rs 1,000 and going to Arambol and Agonda is around Rs 1,450. If getting a non pre-paid taxi, make sure you agree on the fare in advance. Rooms will cost you around Rs 700 for something basic, mid-range around Rs 2,500 and Rs 4,000 if you want to stay in luxury accommodation. The Kadamba Transport Corp operate the buses in Goa, the minimum fare is around Rs 3 for 2 km and Rs 1 for every km travelled after that. To travel around the state fares can range from Rs 8 up to Rs 15 for 30 to 40 km journeys. If using non pre-paid taxi cars and motorcycles negotiate the fare before you board. 

Although Goa is a beautiful place to live it is also extremely popular with tourists and as such you will see a lot of them as you travel around the state. There is also a Siesta from 13.30 until 15.30, you will find that many shops will be closed during this time. Shops in general close around 20.00 in Panaji.
