Transport, Accommodation and Local Information

All London airports have good connections to central London (as well as other cities and destinations in the UK). From Heathrow Airport - take the underground Piccadilly Line from Terminals 1, 2 or 3, a journey time in the region of 30 minutes. Single tickets are approx £6. Quickest is to use the Heathrow Express from Terminal 1, 2 and 3 to Paddington Station in 15 minutes for ca. £26. Taxis from Heathrow Airport to the city centre are around at least £35 with a journey time of 40 minutes. Gatwick Airport: take the Gatwick express from South Terminal to Victoria Station for about £18 (30 minutes travel time). Taxis cost from around £25 per person (if four people share) with a journey time of approx 1 hour. Stansted Airport transfers: travel on the Stansted Express train to Liverpool Street Station priced from £12 or so (45 minutes). A taxi ca. £100 with a journey time of approximately 60 minutes. When it comes to accommodation in London, cheap hostels are about £20 per night, hotels £40 or so and upwards.
