There are several ways to reach Bangalore from the airport, and the BMTC Vayu Vajra buses cost approximately ₹ 50-250. Pre-paid taxis are available from counters inside the terminal, and an average journey is about ₹ 1,200. Metered AC Taxis are also on hand, and cost around ₹ 700- ₹ 1000. There is accommodation to suit every budget, but 20% is added to advertised prices. A cheap room costs around ₹ 700 per night. Mid-range accommodation is about ₹ 1500, and a room in a luxury hotel is approximately ₹ 4000. Local bus services cover all parts of the city. A day pass is about ₹ 40, though it's not valid on Vajra buses. Auto rickshaws have a minimum charge of about ₹ 25 with 10% extra at night. Fares are normally around ₹ 15 by distance in km with a surcharge of around ₹ 10-20 for heavy luggage. Taxis charge a flat rate of ₹ 150 to anywhere in Bangalore, and must be booked in advance.
