Delightful and delicious Brussels
Brussels is a wonderful destination blending gorgeous architecture, excellent food and a great cultural offer. Between admiring centuries-old buildings, indulging in local specialities and enjoying the nightlife, visitors have plenty of things to do in Belgium.
Seasons and events
The weather in Brussels is warmer between May and September, which is the best period to visit the city. A range of cultural and sports events are held in the Belgian capital throughout the year, including the "Fête de l'Iris" in May, with live music, street food, and street art. In early July, "Ommegang", a medieval pageant, is organised, while the athletic event "Memorial Van Damme" is held in late August-early September.

Visitors can enjoy local specialities such as waffles and moules-frites (mussels and chips). For those planning on shopping, the Galeries Saint Hubert (or Sint Hubertusgalerijen) is worth a visit, being the oldest shopping centre in the world.
