Popular Goa attractions
Known as the fun capital of India, Goa is a captivating tourist destination thanks to its wide-ranging attractions. The state is blessed with pristine beaches, exotic biodiversity, world heritage architecture, picturesque islands in addition to rich flora and fauna. Local beaches are always a hive of activity with live entertainment on shacks and docked ships. Baga Beach is one of the popular attractions in India, it boasts scenic views and pleasant ambience. Some of the popular activities available in Baga include banana boat rides, parasailing and dolphin spotting.
Bestowed with a moderate climate, Goa attracts multitudes of spellbound visitors. The period November to March is the best time to visit; the weather is relatively cool and the sea is calm. A number of big music festivals take place between December and January. This is in addition to major outdoor parties featuring popular DJs. Beaches in the north tend to get overpopulated during this period. However, if you are looking for a more serene environment, opt for southern beaches. The weather is hot and humid between April and June resulting in fewer tourists and lower accommodation rates.
Planning to go
There should not be a language barrier in Goa even though the official language is Konkani as Hindi is also widely spoken. Visitors are advised that planning ahead is particularly important during the festival season and around Christmas and the New year as Goa can get busy.
